Mrs. Arlington Takes a Night Off

Need to get your kids out of the house — without you? Several groups put on “Kids Nights Out” throughout the year, but the ones at the Walter Reed Community Center are fun for your kids and budget-friendly! You can drop your kiddo off for 4 hours of fun — art projects, games & more — for just $25.

Pro tip: I like to scout these for potential babysitters for the future.

It warms my heart to know that this program is put on by Teens Making a Difference, young people in Arlington who wanted to give back to the community.

Teens Making a Difference is a Service Club that helps students ages 13-18 plan service projects, learn leadership skills, and improve their schools and community. TMAD has been nationally recognized with a Transforming Local Government Innovation Award. During their weekly meetings, students learn to identify community needs and plan service projects.

The program also offers participants a chance to earn a stipend for work related learning programs.
